Pinterest boosts website hits

So I have been dabbling a bit in Pinterest. If you don’t know what Pinterest is go and take a look. It is big with women, apparently, and I thought it might be a good way to boost traffic to the websites of various clients. I am doing this for two clients currently.

Yesterday, I spent a little time pinning pictures onto the boards of one client. I set up the boards for the client and work behind the scenes for her. Sort of ghost Pinteresting!

Her report back to me is encouraging: “Just checked google analytics for yesterday, and we had another 26 visitors above the normal average – and all from your posting in Pinterest.”

Kind words from a web writing and SEO client

A new website writing client testimonial

This testimonial comes from a client who asked me to write her words for a life/work/relationship coaching company. She is Swedish and speaks several languages but she confessed that her English wasn’t so hot! Here is what she said:

I’ve worked with Dojo Design Studio a few times. I like working with them. They are extremely good at what they do – and offer very reasonable prices. And, it seems, they like working with me, too.

After I wrote the words for their new website, they asked if I’d like to become a named copywriter for them. I said yes. Obviously.

So now I have a special link on their website, for customers who are looking for a great web design by Dojo – and the words written by an copywriter. That’s me!

Ronhill’s double apostrophe clanger

It is bad enough when a company makes one apostrophe mistake in a sentence. But to make two errors in one sentence is an apostrophe atrocity in my opinion. I read this on the Ronhill website when checking out sporty clothing.

One of the features of a garment is this: “UPF 50 – independently tested & certified to block at least 97% of the suns harmful UV ray’s from reaching the skin”

Er, Ronhill, you should be ashamed! The apostrophe is missing from “sun’s” and is not required in “rays”.

So it should read: “UPF 50 – independently tested and certified to block at least 97% of the sun’s harmful UV rays”.

The owners of on-line make-up and beauty tools website Victoria Loves Beauty came to The Number 1 Writing Agency following a recommendation. They were looking for help with the words for their website. They knew they wanted it to sound professional yet engaging. They weren’t sure how to draw in customers and how to write what they wanted to say. I also suggested that all product descriptions should be unique. They were lovely clients to work with. Regatta signs up FionaOutdoors for blog writing

I run two websites. This one – and my Fionaoutdoors.co.uk blog site. Thanks to both strands of my business I have now been employed to write regular blogs for the new Regatta blog. It’s an exciting project and one that will hopefully suit a range of my skills including blog writing, a passion for the outdoors and social media networking.
